Member Spotlight: Nicole Newman — Serving Mount Airy Through Real Estate & Community
Meet Nicole Newman, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Advantage who brings more than two decades of experience helping others into her real estate career.
From Educator to Realtor
Nicole is a lifelong advocate for helping others. Before entering real estate, she spent 27 years as an elementary school teacher. After retiring from education, she wanted to continue making a meaningful difference in people’s lives—and real estate provided the perfect opportunity to do just that.
Today, Nicole serves Mount Airy and the surrounding communities, helping buyers, sellers, families, retirees, and first-time homebuyers navigate the real estate process with confidence and care.
“Helping others has always been at the heart of everything I do.”
Nicole’s approach to real estate is rooted in personalized service, local market knowledge, genuine relationships, and being there for her clients from the first conversation all the way through closing.
Building a Successful Business
Making the transition from a 27-year career in education to building a business from the ground up came with its challenges, but Nicole’s dedication and commitment to serving others quickly translated into success.
After her first full year as a Realtor in 2025, Nicole earned the International Sterling Society Award, recognizing her among the top 11% of Coldwell Banker sales associates. She also received the CBA Way Award for community service.
In 2026, Nicole celebrated another milestone by hosting her first Client Appreciation Day at Interworks, bringing together the clients who have supported her throughout her real estate journey.
Her advice for aspiring business owners is simple:
“Lead with integrity, build genuine relationships, keep learning, and always focus on serving others.”
Finding Community at Interworks
Nicole and the Coldwell Banker Advantage Mount Airy team were drawn to Interworks because they were looking for a professional, collaborative environment where they could work while connecting with other local professionals.
Since becoming part of the Interworks community, Nicole says the coworking space has helped her grow her network, build meaningful relationships, and create valuable referral opportunities.
One of her favorite parts of working from Interworks is being able to meet clients in a beautiful, welcoming environment. The conference rooms provide the perfect setting for consultations—and, of course, the coffee machine is always a favorite!
Beyond business connections, Nicole has also developed friendships and meaningful relationships within the Interworks community that have led to referrals and new business opportunities.
Life Beyond Real Estate
When she isn’t helping clients find their next home, Nicole enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, and relaxing at the beach.
And there are a few fun facts you might not know about her: Nicole has three older sisters, and all four sisters were born within just five and a half years of one another. She also admits that she got into trouble in elementary school for talking too much!
As a local business owner, Nicole also has plenty of favorite Mount Airy spots, including Chase & Charli, 13 Bones, Grounded Coffee, Harvest Grill, Jess’ Boutique, and Foothills Coffee House.
One quote that continues to inspire her comes from Maya Angelou:
“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”
What’s Next for Nicole?
Nicole is looking forward to continuing to grow her real estate business, helping more families find the perfect home, hosting additional client appreciation events, and becoming even more involved in the Mount Airy community.
Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a longtime family home, preparing for retirement, or simply have questions about the local market, Nicole welcomes the opportunity to connect.
