Her mother, father, and grandparents all owned businesses in the area, including a clothing boutique—Charlotte’s—that was located in downtown Mount Airy in the 1970s. Today, her shop on Moore Avenue sits just a few doors down from where her great-grandfather once owned Hennis Motors, tying her story even more closely to the town’s rich history.
